There's still broccoli and cauliflower and carrots and beets out there, but they are in the cold ground.  Cold ground is much different than the warm stuff I had my hands in all season.  With most of the fields cover cropped with red winter wheat,  it looks as though nothing happened out there this year.  The same land, but vacant.  I  realized the other day that I know nothing about ornamental plants.  Not a thing, other than being able to point out an azalea.  I know only about plants that can feed us.
