Grapevine transfer

People are incredibly kind.

Things have started to snowball around here.  Now that we have our first shareholder, we're feeling good ... and confident ... and capable of anything.  Networking isn't so hard.  Neither is weeding corn.  Both just take time.  We've got flyers and brochures and postcards in all sorts of places where potential customers might frequent.  Information about our farm and CSA was included in a 1,500 person e-blast to everyone on my yoga studio's mailing list!  This e-mail mainly went to people in the Camp Hill/ greater Harrisburg area.  People who are interested in yoga might very well be interested in the local, organic movement.  Time will tell.  That was last week.  This week I've been helping harvest grapes at the local winery.  I'm learning how to make wine!  Today, we were asked if we'd like to be included at two upcoming events they are having at the winery.  We'll set up flowers and organic vegetables, sell our stuff and talk about our kickin' CSA program.  And!!  We're going to be included in the winery's 1,500 person e-blast regarding these events.  People who drive up to this winery and drink wine might be well inclined to a) pass our farm on their way and b) eat organic food.  Things are happening.  Things are really starting to happen.

Oh man, I almost totally forgot to mention 3 other things we're in the midst of working on:
We're working on having monthly workshops on the farm next year with my yoga instructor who would invite her clients up and teach soon-to-be mothers (she teaches prenatal yoga)  how to garden organically.  We also were approached by a local meat CSA to see if we want to join forces to be able to offer shareholders local, organic meat!  And tonight we'll attend a meeting at the local food bank to brainstorm about how to expand the food bank to include a soup kitchen component (right now it's just people picking up groceries there - no food is prepared there).  Anyway, we're thinking of holding events at this possible soup kitchen where we would teach people how to cook with vegetables and herbs.  Many people at the food bank pick up the processed food because it's quick and easy.  We'll show people that it's just as easy and quick to eat the good stuff.

Me looking very tired because we've been very busy (but it's all good)
