Yellow split pea soup with spinach and rice











Everyday for two weeks, I wanted to try out a recipe for yellow split pea soup which has coconut milk, cardamom, turmeric and cloves in it.  HOLY PETE - it was worth the wait.  And to make it a full meal, I added fresh spinach and rice.  It's topped with a spiced plain yogurt sauce (with turmeric, cumin, and paprika).  I thought I overdid it on the cardamom, but this puppy came out juuust right.  If anyone visits me, I'll make up a fresh batch.  (yes, I am trying to lure you with food like I would a puppy dog)
